MAUI LAND & PINEAPPLE CO. WELCOMES BAYA BOWLS TO KAPALUA
Locally loved food truck returns to serve fresh açaí bowls and smoothies

KAPALUA, HI (May 1, 2025) – Maui Land & Pineapple Company, Inc. (NYSE: MLP) recently welcomed Baya Bowls, a locally loved food truck known for its fresh açaí bowls and smoothies, to its new location at Honokahua Bay, also known as D.T. Fleming Beach in Kapalua. Marking a fresh start after losing its Lāhainā home in the August 2023 wildfires, the reopening contributes to ongoing efforts to restore West Maui’s dining scene and revitalize spaces that bring the community together.
“We’ve worked to create space for locally owned, family-run businesses like Baya Bowls to ensure they are able to continue serving the community that’s supported them for years,” said Jonathan Grobe, VP of Real Estate for Maui Land & Pineapple Co. “Their reopening in Kapalua helps restore jobs lost in the wildfires, strengthens local food production by sourcing directly from Maui farms, and advances our renewed mission to activate land and assets to meet the needs of the community.”
Baya Bowls is the latest locally owned business to reactivate on land managed by Maui Land & Pineapple, which stewards more than 22,000 acres and 247,000 square feet of commercial real estate across the island.
The business began 10 years ago in an 8-by-10-foot trailer and has since expanded into a 300-square-foot food truck now serving customers at the Honokahua Bay parking area—just across from D.T. Fleming Beach. With a team of seven, Baya Bowls offers fresh, island-sourced fare in a relaxed, open-air setting with picnic tables and umbrellas just steps from the shoreline.
Baya Bowls sources high-quality, local ingredients, including honey from a family-owned apiary in Waihe‘e, apple bananas from Ka‘anapali and Ke‘anae, and cacao nibs from Maui Ku‘ia Chocolate Factory in Lāhainā. The best-selling Standard Bowl features organic granola, apple banana, strawberry, toasted coconut and raw honey, while the popular Rise and Grind smoothie blends fresh cold brew coffee with almond milk, organic peanut butter, chocolate protein and bananas for a protein-packed energy boost.
“We’re so excited to bring Baya Bowls back and continue serving fresh, locally sourced açaí bowls and smoothies to the community,” said Ceone Najima-Jacinto, owner of Baya Bowls. “This new location in Kapalua gives us the opportunity to reconnect with our longtime customers while welcoming new faces. We’re incredibly grateful for the support from Maui Land & Pineapple in helping us find a space that allows us to keep doing what we love.”
Baya Bowls operates daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Honokahua Bay / D.T. Fleming Beach parking area, staying true to its mission of serving fresh, healthy food while supporting local farmers.
